Birmingham, Part 2
August 8
For our last full day in Birmingham, we walked through the center of the city and towards an up and coming artsy area.
We started at the massive conglomeration that includes the train station and a huge mall. The silver building above is a Selfridges. The mall is called the bull ring because there used to be bull baiting in this spot.
The artsy area is called the Custard Factory and there seem to be many art studios, classes, workshops, and so much street art.
Old brick buildings ...
And new. Those ovals are the balconies for the apartments in that building.
A parking lot delineated by crushed cars.
Table tennis club.
Canal side art. The gigundo beams above the wall are part of a HS2--high speed rail project.
This viaduct tunnel was in a critical scene in Peaky Blinders. We felt very safe nonetheless.
We passed through a few tunnels as made our way home.
