More Gardens in Bath
We started our day with a walking tour of the central part of Bath, where we learned quite a bit about the history and architecture of the area. Included is the legend that Prince Bladud was banished to the fields as a swine herder when he contracted leprosy (~600 BCE). After watching his pigs wallow in the mud and emerge with silky smooth skin, he himself wallowed in the waters and experienced the magical healing powers of the local hot springs. He became king of the area and founded the town of Bath. We have not yet taken of the healing waters. In the afternoon, we took an uphill walk from our apartment.
